The company already has two operational stations and plans to continue expanding the number of charging points throughout the country. In parallel, the company solidifies its position in its third international market, establishing itself as a leading independent operator in the UK, Portugal, and Spain. In the latter, it boasts over 1,200 operational charging points, positioning itself as the country's most extensive ultra-rapid charging network. Furthermore, these stations are strategically located to meet the charging needs of electric vehicle customers, with power capacities of up to 360 kW. The Spanish company's milestone was achieved following approval and integration with MOBI.E. As such, the Portuguese public company, which manages the Electric Mobility Network, accredits Wenea as an eMSP (Electric Mobility Service Provider), allowing it to market its charging services across the extensive network of chargers in the neighboring country. Prior to this, Wenea put its first two charging stations into operation in Portugal and obtained its license as a CPO (Charge Point Operator). Wenea's strategy in the neighboring country involves expanding its network of proprietary charging points in urban and interurban areas and attracting customers through a diverse and competitive range of charging services. Interoperability and sustainable mobility across Europe With this expansion, Wenea's Spanish customers traveling to Portugal will be able to charge their vehicles using the company's mobile application and payment methods, thanks to the interoperability it offers with over 100,000 charging points distributed throughout Europe. Alberto Cantero, CEO of Wenea: 'Entering the Portuguese market as an Operator represents a significant milestone in our expansion strategy. Furthermore, in an integrated energy market such as the Iberian Peninsula, with over 100,000 vehicles traveling the roads of the Spanish-Portuguese border every day, it makes perfect sense for our offering as Mobility Service Providers to be integrated as well. We are firmly committed to promoting the transition to increasingly sustainable mobility, with an infrastructure and charging network without barriers, directly addressing the needs of our customers, and actively contributing to reducing carbon footprint in travel.' [vc_row][vc_column][ezy_heading heading_text="Wenea and CIM Vallès sign an agreement to transform sustainable mobility in the industrial park" heading_text_thickness="font-weight-bold" heading_text_style="true" css=".vc_custom_1708329841687{margin-top: 3rem !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]  The agreement will facilitate the electrification of logistics in this industrial park Through this agreement, Wenea continues its commitment to delivering its cargo everywhere, considering all types of clients [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] Madrid, February 16, 2024. Wenea, a leading electric vehicle charging operator in Spain, announces a strategic agreement with CIM Vallès (CIMALSA) for the implementation of a public electric charging network, serving all users of the industrial park. This agreement involves the deployment of twenty-four alternate current (AC) charging points and four high-power charging (HPC) points, with a minimum capacity of 100 kW. The duration of the agreement is set at 20 years, and it is expected that the implementation will be completed within a period of 14 months. Thus, the parking lots located in the common areas of the industrial park will have electrified spaces. Additionally, these charging points will be available to all Wenea customers through its platform. Focusing on the electrification of logistics, this agreement represents a valuable commitment to the sustainable future of the industrial park, where CIM Vallès is one of the largest logistics hubs in Catalonia. With approximately 1,575,000 vehicles and 3,000 workers accessing the industrial park annually, the initiative aims to promote electric mobility and provide efficient charging solutions for the growing business community. Sergi Palmada, expansion delegate in Catalonia, stated, "Wenea works intensively to bring its charging solutions to all key sectors in the decarbonization of transportation. Logistics plays a fundamental role. Logistics hubs like CIM Vallès will be a benchmark in offering charging infrastructure solutions, allowing long-haul, medium-distance, and last-mile industrial fleets to charge to provide service in the metropolitan areas of Barcelona." Isaac Albert i Agut, President and CEO of CIMALSA, manager of CIM Vallès, highlights that "transportation, mobility, and logistics are economic activities and, by their very nature, are currently producers of many of these gases' emissions. Our work, our challenge, is to find ways to decarbonize, that is, to substantially reduce the use of fossil fuels and contaminants in the transportation and logistics chain. It must be viable, it must be sustainable. Logistics must be decarbonized, and this is one more step in that direction." Both parties hope that this collaboration will be a significant step towards creating a more sustainable and electrified business environment in the area.
