Frequently asked questions
Why can't I register on the app?
If you’re experiencing difficulties with the registration process, please ensure that you have entered all your information accurately, including your email address. If you continue to have trouble registering, kindly reach out to our customer support team at 0800 208 8897, and we will gladly help.
How can I add my bank card?
To add your bank card, navigate to the ‘Wallet’ option in the main menu, select ‘add a bank card’, and input your bank details. We will authorise a charge of £0.01 which will not be refunded. If you require any assistance, please reach out to our support team.
Why am I being charged a hold on my payment during the charging process?
During the charging process with Wenea EV chargers, you may notice a hold of up to £45 on your payment method. This is known as a preauthorisation fee. The preauthorisation amount is not actually deducted from your account; rather, it is held temporarily to ensure that your account has the necessary funds to cover the cost of the energy you will use.
Once your charging session is complete, the preauthorisation amount is released, and you are only charged for the actual energy delivered. If you have any questions or encounter issues, please contact our customer service on 0800 208 8897.
How can I get a VAT receipt?
If you have paid for your charge through contactless, you can click here to fill out a form and you will receive your VAT receipt via email.
If you charged using our app, you will be able to find your VAT receipt in your ‘My Charges’.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept MasterCard, Visa credit, and debit cards. Unfortunately, we do not currently support payments made through American Express.
My card is not working, what should I do?
Simply navigate to the “My payment methods” section in the menu, delete the current card, and add a new one.
Note: Only one card can be registered at a time. Adding a new card will replace the previous details.
What do the colours of the icons on the map mean?
These colours indicate the status of the charge points.
– Green indicates that the charging point is available.
– Red indicates that the charging point is not available at the moment but will be available soon.
– Black and yellow indicate that the charging point is under maintenance.
In addition, the icons on the maps indicate the type of station. You will find Wenea stations and interoperable stations.
Want to see the legend of the points? No problem! You can find it by clicking on the ‘I’ icon in the menu.
Why don't I see any Wenea stations on the map?
If you are having trouble seeing all our charging stations on the map, you may have a filter activated, don’t worry, it’s easy to fix. When you open the application, simply click on the filters icon and you will see all the available options. If you want to add a filter, select ‘Apply’. But if you prefer to see all our charge points, just click on ‘Reset’.
How do I start and end the charging process?

- If there is more than one charger at the station, identify and select the one you want to use.
