This strategic collaboration will enable the integration of charging systems from both companies into their respective platforms, significantly expanding the charging network available to their customers across Europe. Key aspects of the collaboration Integration of Chargers: Wenea's and Monta's chargers will seamlessly synchronize within both applications, simplifying customer access to a wider charging network. This measure aims to promote convenience and flexibility, further driving the adoption of sustainable technology. Strategically Distributed Charging Network: Thanks to this collaboration, Wenea's customers will be able to access over 1,500 charging points across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Ireland, United Kingdom, and France. Meanwhile, Monta's network will have over 1,000 points distributed throughout Spain and the United Kingdom. This expansion ensures comprehensive coverage for all electric vehicle customers, allowing them to charge wherever and whenever needed. Charging Experience through the Wenea App: Customers will be able to charge at these roaming points by downloading the Wenea mobile app, available on iOS and Android. The platform provides a charging point map, route planner, and features to monitor charging status, check real-time charger availability, review billing and recharge history. Wenea expects to have 200 chargers deployed by the end of 2023, with the aim of accelerating the transition to electric mobility. Prioritising communities that need better EV charging infrastucture, Wenea has EV chargers in Herefordshire, Oxfordshire, Scotland and Devon. Over thirty chargers are located across Exeter, East Devon and Plymouth in areas poorly served by EV charging infrastructure. Much of the charging hubs are at on-street locations as part of partnerships with local authorities, bringing EV charging capability to residents who do not have off-street parking. Wenea also focuses on providing its fully-integrated charging experience to both B2B and B2C customers through its platform, available on iOS and Android. Jose Contreras, Wenea, says, “We are working with many local councils to identify UK locations that would benefit from EV charging solutions. We recognise the challenges that many communities face in not easily being able to access EV charging and are working hard to rectify this.” He continues, “Many of our chargers are also located in areas of high tourism – providing much needed EV infrastructure to support the tourist industry and open up parts of the UK to EV drivers.” The Wenea roll out features a mix of fast and rapid charging solutions. This groundbreaking project, developed as part of Pivot Power's nationwide network of Energy Superhubs, integrates transmission-connected batteries and power infrastructure for EV charging, enabling increased use of renewables and accelerating the decarbonisation of transportation. The EV charging hub, located at Oxford's Redbridge Park and Ride, will initially provide rapid and ultra-rapid charging for up to 42 vehicles simultaneously. Powered entirely by renewable energy, the hub has an installed capacity of 10 MW on-site and is capable of scaling up to support the charging needs of 400 vehicles. This state-of-the-art infrastructure will contribute to the anticipated 36 million EVs expected to be on UK roads by 2040. Wenea, one of Europe's largest EV charging service providers, stands out at the charging hub with the deployment of twenty 7-22 kW charging bays. These charging bays complement the ten charging bays from Fastned, offering 300 kW of power, which enable hundreds of EVs to gain 300 miles of range in just 20 minutes. Additionally, Tesla owners can benefit from twelve 250 kW Tesla Superchargers. The installation of Wenea's EV charging stations was expertly carried out by ODS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oxford City Council. The Energy Superhub Oxford project, led by Pivot Power, aims to decarbonize public and private transport, including taxis and commercial fleets, throughout Oxford. By supporting the city's net zero plan for 2040, this initiative serves as a blueprint for urban decarbonisation , demonstrating the feasibility of achieving simultaneous advancements in green transport, power, and heating. Oxford's ambition extends further with the pilot Zero Emission Zone, a pioneering scheme that imposes fees on non-electric vehicles entering the central zone.
