Frequently asked questions
What is a charging hub or charge point for electric vehicles?
The concept of a ‘charging hub’ is a colloquial way of referring to charging stations for electric cars. It combines the idea of a traditional petrol station with the reference to electricity as a source of energy to power our vehicles.
These charge points are fully accessible to drivers, in the same way as a traditional petrol station. Our locator puts at your disposal the more than 400 available charge points that are part of the Wenea network in the UK. Find fast charging stations and the different power ratings from 50 kW, 100 kW or 150 kW. If you have a location where you can install a charging station for electric vehicles, you can join our network and enjoy the advantages of being part of the Wenea community
What types of connectors are there?
- CSS Combo: Continuous charging connector based on the European charging standard. Allows charging up to 500 kW.
- CHAdeMO: Continuous charging connector implemented by some Asian vehicle manufacturers, allowing bi-directional charging (charging to the car and from the car to the house or the grid).
- Type 2: European standard AC connector, also known as Mennekes. Allows charging up to 7.4 kW in single-phase and 22 kW in three-phase.
